Description
The Stanislaus County Ethnic Studies CoP provides district and classroom leaders an opportunity to gain a shared understanding of Ethnic Studies. District teams will have time to design a course that is reflective of their school community and which aligns with the Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum guiding principles.

“Supporting Multilingual Instruction, Learning, and Engagement in Science (SMILES), will consist of six (6) foci: (1) the implementation of the CA NGSS; (2) equitable grading practices; (3) use of rubrics for assessment; (4) hands-on inquiry discussion; (5) promoting sense-making through discourse; (6) community-driven topics.
