Join our exclusive Community of Practice for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) educators! This event is designed as a collaborative space where TK teachers can come together to learn new concepts, build community, and gain practical insights for enhancing classroom practice. Led by experienced educators and featuring expert guest speakers, this session will provide fresh strategies, resources, and ideas tailored specifically for TK classrooms.
Throughout the events, participants will engage in interactive discussions on the latest research in early childhood education, share best practices, and develop supportive professional connections. You’ll also have the chance to take home classroom-ready materials and resources to implement immediately, helping you foster an enriching, developmentally appropriate learning environment.

Program requirements:
A two-week Summer Institute, July 14-25, 2025 with an emphasis on completing a pre-selected project customized to the learning needs of your community
Five half-day Community of Practice meetings over the course of the Fellowship
An observation related to coaching colleagues on implementation of your Summer Institute project
A commitment to fulfill around 20 hours of independent self-paced components of the Fellowship over a period of 12-16 months
Join our Restorative Practices Community of Practice series to promote transformative disciplinary approaches and implement alternatives to suspension. The series kicks off on April 2nd with a full-day session led by Marisol Rerucha, focusing on the foundations of restorative practices and shifting staff perceptions. On May 21st, an in-person workshop will provide space for reflection, problem-solving, and refining action plans. The final virtual session on June 4th will guide teams in developing school-wide strategies, clear roles, and actionable steps for alternatives such as conflict resolution, restorative circles, peer mediation, and re-entry support. Together, we aim to build a positive school culture centered on accountability, relationships, and student success
The RTI at Work associate will deliver these customized workshops with a focus on how to create and lead a tiered system of support by examining the four essential elements of a successful RTI at Work model: collective responsibility, concentrated instruction, convergent assessment, and certain access. The content for the workshops will be geared to the specific needs and challenges of the audience as determined by the associate in collaboration with school and district leadership.
The Monterey County Office of Education invites all 21 CSLA Mid-State Collaborative teams to join us for an amazing opportunity for professional development. We have partnered with Dr. Jamila Dugan, co-author of "Street Data: A Next-Generation Model for Equity, Pedagogy, and School Transformation". Dr. Dugan will lead our COP in a three-part series entitled "The Possible Future of Education: An Invitation to Radically Dream". This series will launch at MCOE's 6th Annual ALL IN FOR EQUITY Conference on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Monterey Conference Center. The February session will take place virtually and the June session will be in person. We hope that you will be able to join us a we will learn what it means to Radically Dream and then move into action.
